I know his tail is supposed to be stubby and this kind of goes against his actual personality, but it seemed like a really cool thing to do at the time.

OMGGGGGGG! I love that you drew Darx-kai! 
It makes me think of how he would look when he was younger (and before he got into so much trouble!) I don't know if you knew, but his tail was much longer but it got bit off in a fight! 
The way you drew him makes him look like he's ready to fight (maybe this is before the fight where he lost his tail? oooooh!)
